1. Introduction

By using TabRush, you confirm your acceptance of, and agree to be bound by, these terms and conditions.


2. Agreement to Terms and Conditions

This Agreement takes effect on the date you first use the TabRush application.


3. License and Termination Rights

The TabRush app is provided solely for personal use to support receipt scanning and bill splitting with friends. You may use the app’s functionalities as provided, subject to these terms. TabRush retains the right to terminate or restrict your access to the app at any time without prior notice. This enables TabRush to ensure responsible and appropriate usage of the app.


4. Refunds

TabRush is currently free to use. As a digital service, should any future paid features or upgrades be introduced, refunds will be handled in accordance with our refund policy and applicable consumer protection laws.


5. Disclaimer

TabRush does not warrant that the app will meet your specific requirements or that its operation will be uninterrupted or error-free. All express and implied warranties or conditions not expressly stated in this Agreement, including but not limited to loss of data or any interruption of service, are excluded to the maximum extent allowed by law. This Agreement does not affect your statutory rights.


6. Warranties and Limitation of Liability

TabRush does not provide any warranty, guarantee, or other terms regarding the app’s quality, suitability for any purpose, or functionality. TabRush is not liable for any indirect, special, or consequential losses or damages arising from the app’s use. Should TabRush be deemed liable for a breach of this Agreement, you agree that any liability will be limited to the amount actually paid by you for any paid features or services in the app, if any. You hereby release TabRush from any and all obligations, liabilities, and claims beyond this limitation.


7. Responsibilities

TabRush is not responsible for any actions taken by users based on the bill splitting calculations generated within the app. Users are responsible for verifying the accuracy of scanned receipts and bill allocations.


8. Price Adjustments

TabRush is committed to improving the app. If paid features or upgrades are introduced in the future, pricing may be adjusted accordingly. Any existing users will be notified in advance if changes affect them.


9. General Terms and Law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of South Africa. You acknowledge that no joint venture, partnership, employment, or agency relationship exists between you and TabRush as a result of your use of these services. You agree not to represent yourself as a representative, agent, or employee of TabRush and acknowledge that TabRush is not liable for any act or omission by you.


10. Use of Third-Party Services

  1. OpenAI for Receipt Scanning and Processing

    • The Receipt Scanning feature (“AI Feature”) uses machine learning technology to extract items and prices from receipt images. This feature relies on OpenAI’s Vision API.
    • By using the AI Receipt Scanning feature, you acknowledge and agree that TabRush may rely on OpenAI’s services to process images and extract data.
    • Your use of this feature may therefore be subject to OpenAI’s Privacy Policy and other applicable terms of OpenAI. We encourage you to review OpenAI’s policies to understand how they handle and protect user data.
    • TabRush does not control or assume responsibility for any third-party terms, policies, or services.

  2. Data Processing and Storage

    • Receipt images and extracted data are processed to provide the bill splitting functionality.
    • While we strive to ensure accuracy, the AI extraction may not always be perfect. Users are responsible for verifying the accuracy of extracted items before finalizing bill splits.

  3. User Responsibility

    • You are responsible for any actions or decisions made based on the data extracted from receipts. TabRush is not liable for inaccuracies in the scanning process or consequences resulting from reliance on AI-generated content.

  4. Feature Availability

    • The receipt scanning feature may experience interruptions, delays, or errors. TabRush makes no guarantees regarding the performance or accuracy of AI features and reserves the right to modify or discontinue them at any time.
